Stronger Than You Know
This story is worth sharing with your friends
Life is either a daring adventure,
or nothing at all.
~Hellen Keller
American author, activist, and lecturer from the 1800s,
who became blind and deaf when she was 19 months old.
This story is personal. I named my company Team Sales Coach because it’s all about the team. We go in through the life sales door and impact other lines of business with our philosophy of serving over selling.
My customer is actually the agent, but I decided the best way to help the agent was to help the team member first. To make that happen, we made serving the customer better our mission.
When the customer is taken care of, the team member does better. Then the agent does better, and I go last. It’s a quadruple win, and we’ve been very successful.
Once I decided to open my own business, I wrote out my plan. But I didn’t feel that was enough; I needed to get in front of someone I trusted to make sure I wasn’t crazy. Success requires both a plan and constructive truth.
State Farm agent Kim Lego
I called Kim and asked for a few minutes. We met at the Chairman’s Circle Study Group in Florida, but had never worked together.
She made time for me, and I started spinning my dream. She confirmed that I was crazy – but she didn’t shoot down my idea. She and her team have been with me for several years now.
Being an agent isn’t easy!
Don’t believe the social media hype that all you need to do is open the agency door, and BOOM!! You’re living your best life, and it’s raining cash! No, my friend, managing and motivating people takes a toll, if we’re honest.
No matter who you are, at some point, the enemy pays you a visit.
December 2020 (The enemy makes a move)
This story has nothing to do with Kim and her team qualifying for Exotic. I’m happy for them, but it’s much bigger than that. It’s about facing fear and rising to the challenge to face the enemy.
2021 became a magical year with explosive personal growth for her and the entire team. But, as wonderful as that was, two years later, an even bigger challenge showed up for Kim concerning her health. It’s an enemy that isn’t easily defeated.
Goliath, in one form or another, is always around the corner for all of us friends. However, it’s so inspiring to watch a group of people fight back.
Kim has a wonderful support system, led by her husband, Dave, her family, and friends – and that’s before I get to her amazing team. They refused to accept less and instead stepped up even bigger than before.
Through this journey
they all learned that they were stronger than they knew.
It’s More than Sales
Agents find us because they want to improve their team’s life sales. But, if you hang around long enough, you’ll learn that it’s so much more than that.
Personal growth is a thousand times more powerful than sales strategies alone. When we become better, we do better. But becoming better requires enduring the tough times, too. They are merely stepping stones to make us stronger.
After achieving what she called her best year ever in 2020. Kim and her amazing team have achieved 3 best-year-ever(s) in a row!
