It was October and the Orlando airport was shut down due to high winds. We were dancing between storms and I had a flight to catch.  I was scheduled to speak at a conference the next morning in New Orleans.

 

Anything worth having, is worth fighting for. 

 

Since that door was closed, I drove back to Jacksonville and booked a flight to leave very early the next morning. I later learned that the Jacksonville airport would be shut down within two hours after I left.

 

I made it to New Orleans on fumes with virtually no sleep to speak to a few hundred agents that morning. They were members of the ATS conference and they have always been very gracious to me. It was the second time they invited me to address their members and I was grateful.

 

When it comes to our coaching platform, we’re not for everyone, and I don’t apologize.  We’re only looking for a committed few who are willing to follow the process. You can’t just sign up for it, you have to engage.  Several took a step forward and one of those agents was Alyssa Holloway in Alabama.

 

She joined in January and took off like a bottle rocket.  Her team has already written 80% of what they wrote for all of last year, and that’s before we got to July!

I asked a few questions

Why did you sign up?
I loved what you said at the conference. I was so excited to start because your process is so simple. My team loves it because it’s so easy, and we’ve embraced (the philosophy) of taking advantage of every opportunity.

 

This isn’t an endorsement, but what’s been your impression of the coaching?
It’s been phenomenal! I’ve been telling all of my friends about it. It’s just so easy. With your process, the life conversation with the template only takes about 3 minutes, and the customer understands it. From beginning to end, I’m writing cases in about 30 to 40 minutes now, including the application.

 

Pretend you never met me or our process, and contrast that with what you were doing before.                        It pains me to think about what I was doing before because it took a lot of time!  I used to spend at least 35 – 40 minutes just prospecting to see if the customer was a good fit for life insurance.

 

As an agent, it got to be overwhelming with how much time I was taking with all that I had to do already. It’s so much easier now that I don’t have to invest as much of my time. 

 

Before, I had to get into the weeds, and some of the information the customer would retain and some they wouldn’t.  So using the simplified approach has helped with what my customers retain; they value the insurance now and want to keep it.

They’re having a great year by following the process.

Once we have a simple and easy process in place, success is within reach for anyone.  But please understand that success is bashful, and it will not come to you, friends.  No – you have to TAKE it!

 

One of the biggest blessings of doing what I do is watching team members and agents alike succeed by taking the opportunity they didn’t know was there.
